Klebel Traded
« on: March 21, 2016, 07:43:26 am »
'It was a difficult decision to let Bingham go, but he wants to play and we just don't have room for him right now.' Was the quote from GM LT of the Idaho Steelheads after the club traded away its first true superstar. 'Anytime you deal a player who is so well loved in the clubhouse and community it is tough. But we felt like we had a chance to get a young ballplayer with significant upside in Vazquez and allowed Bingham to continue to play on a regular basis in WV.'

Klebel never played in then minors, going straight from college to the Steelheads lineup. His rookie year he lead the league with 14 triples. In his 4th season he won the batting title, hitting .341. He hit .331 the following season. He is a 3 time all star, who has lead the league in triples twice.

Overall he holds the top 2 batting seasons for Idaho, the top 3 On base averages, the all time leader in Idaho for games played, at bats, hits, singles, triples, walks, runs, and strikeouts.

'We wish him the best in WV and hope he can add to his impressive career numbers and contribute to the WV lineup.'
