Well then.

I wanted the overall offense in my ballpark to be more or less neutral, with an emphasis on "small ball." It appears that I was successful at building the ballpark I wanted, but unsuccessful at picking a good team.

If anyone wants to send any good pitchers or defensive players my direction, it would be greatly appreciated. Apparently offensive talent doesn't work with my team.

My team doesn't strike out a lot and did give up many walks but we could kinda hit and i was ok but

Record at home    34-47, .420 PCT
Record on the road    38-35, .521 PCT

this is why a team that should have a winnng rec doesnt and when it mattered most we went 7-11 worst month by far but team is kinda young and looking for a chance next year

Technically no but Odds are your not losing 8 in a row while Kentucky and mass win 7 or 8  so your a playoff team

Very true... Sepulveda will pitch twice in the final sim and deliver at least 1 win - fingers crossed on the injury front!

Some questions for the commish...

1. Is the wildcard a 5 or 7 game series? The rules say 7 games, however I believe there was discussion regarding a 5 game series.

2. What is the sim schedule for the playoffs? Do we sim a full round at a time or sim 2 home games, then 3 away then 2 home games, or something different?

Some questions for the commish...

1. Is the wildcard a 5 or 7 game series? The rules say 7 games, however I believe there was discussion regarding a 5 game series.

Wildcard round is 5 game series, LCS and FCS rounds are 7 game series

2. What is the sim schedule for the playoffs? Do we sim a full round at a time or sim 2 home games, then 3 away then 2 home games, or something different?

Sim schedule is daily (or whenever all playoff team owners give me the go ahead), sims are ran for each home stand.

Sorry about any confusion. I'm in the process of doing some league tidying up so I'll be sure to check whether everything on the site is saying the same things...

The wildcard round will be a 5 game series with a 2-2-1 format with the higher winning percentage wildcard team will have homefield advantage. The two league champs will have a 1st round bye and have home field advantage against the wildcard round winner. The LCS will be a 7 game series with a 2-3-2 format.

For the playoff sims, we will break after each homestand in the series so for the wildcard round we'll sim games 1 and 2 then regroup and sim games 3 then if necessary 4 then 5 whenever all playoff teams are ready or the next morning.

Playoffs will start on Monday when the AFBL Wildcard Round kicks off games 1 and 2. We will have a sim daily at the minimum (no breaks on Tues or Thurs) or whenever all playoff team owners give me the go ahead to sim or any lineup changes.

Hopefully this makes sense! Spend the word among any OOTP friends so we can fill at least 1 opening. We do have 2 openings but I do have a potential owner lined up. Thanks guys!

The draft pool is always going to be poor with so few rounds. But it's important to keep young guys in the organisation as some will explode into significantly better players than what they project to be.

Also we can't have too many draft rounds or the player pool, and therefore overall player quality gets too high and dilutes the quality of the star players currently in the league.

Matt - have you done any test simming to ensure that the number, and quality of retirements each year will reasonably match over time the influx of new guys through the draft? You want to be careful the FA pool doesn't get too big or too small over time due to mass retirements, or very few retirements for a number of years in a row.

I have actually simmed our league in a test league through 2020 to find that the draft pools were similar with some nice draft classes and some slim ones like the upcoming ammy draft. I've also noticed that the number of free agents available with the number of retirements has kept a good balance. It doesn't appear that we need to add any modifiers to player progression or number of players generated etc.

I will say that this draft class was one of the top 3 worst from the classes I saw during the long-term sim thru 2020.

A few notes about the upcoming playoff series between the NC Aviators (86-68 so far) and the NJ Athletics (82-72 so far):

The stat I like... in the the last 7 games, all in September, New Jersey is 6-1 v North Carolina, 2-1 away and 4-0 at home - now that's playoff form!
