Just a reminder that AFBL adopted a 7-7-9 playoff format for this year and beyond. It's different from the 5-7-7 format previously!

I was really hoping to avoid 100 losses this year, but that's not going to happen.  The pitching, aside from Jermaine Larson, has been pretty lousy.

That said, we've had some nice offensive performances.  1B Elvis Lowe has set career and franchise highs in several categories.  He's got 37 HR's and 100 RBI on the year.

LF Kevin Garrett, the cream of our prospect crop, still has some room to grow, but won Rookie and Batter of the Month for September.  It's the first BOTM for us.

C Gus Chandler has struggled this year, and CF Alex Benson hasn't been able to stay healthy.  Hopefully, those guys can have a better showing next year.

Wow. Rod O'Colgan (WV) is destroying the former single season strikeouts record of 325 with 359 with another potential start for him.

taylor is only 2 back from the record himself.

I am limiting the innings that Taylor is playing so the record is not possible for Ron because of that.

As always the FL East is on fire at the end of the season ... Texas is leading by 3 but we have a tough series against Illinois now. I think that 3 wins out of 6 would be enough for us, but lets see.

This battle with Ontario has been a great one, it seems to have kicked our guys into gear and they have been playing some great baseball. SP Bobby Brown continues to put up the type of numbers you expect from a #2 in the rotation, not a #5.

Playoff seedings will be vital as Ontario has had our number this year, but WV has beaten Ontario I believe.

I'm playing with the idea of using a Wordpress theme for our website. Here is what I have put together (based on Mike's SBC league haha) for a new landing page for our homepage... http://www.afblbaseball.com/afblnew/.

I love how things are currently but this could allow easier access of the league especially while on your phone or tablet.

Haha I didn't plan on using the same theme but it looked the best for the free themes I looked at.

I do like the idea of making things easier for everyone for whatever situation they are accessing our league throughout the day :)!

The fact that we've made the playoffs with this ageing roster is awesome, the fact that we could even manage 100 wins is even better, but in all honesty our regular season record against the playoff teams in both leagues is not good so we're not expecting much, but 8 straight years of playoffs is pretty awesome, looks ourselves and Texas will both do that this year.

Our record v playoff teams, or playoff contenders:
Colorado 2-2
Illinois 3-1
Indiana 2-2
New Mexico 1-3
Ontario 8-10
Texas 1-3
Virginia 5-5
West Virginia 3-7
Total 25-33
