New York Brewers 2015 Season Preview
« on: September 17, 2013, 06:54:09 pm »
New York, NY (AP)

On the eve of the 2015 Spring Training schedule, the New York Brewers will be dealing with the pressure of two consecutive seasons below 70 wins. The 2015 Brewers will need to reduce some troubling trends in pitching (Total pitching WAR was 5.4 in 2013 and 4.1 in 2014), and the batting WAR increase from 7.1 in 2013 to 11.2 in 2014 will need to be at least maintained. One would be hard pressed to find a way that this team will win 75 games this season, and the potential of a historically bad AFBL campaign is not out of the question.

The players and the front office have put on a brave face, but there have been recent reports of disagreements within the front office as to the best strategy going forward. The common consensus among industry executives is that a fire-sale and major change in player development/acquisition strategy may be coming in a matter of days.
