Arizona shaking up their league structure
« on: November 04, 2013, 08:37:50 pm »
Flagstaff, Az-- Tonight, Troy Olsen, Owner of the Arizona Alpines, announced radical changes to the organization. Due to Nevada getting a pro team in the AFBL expansion, the Las Vegas AAA Team, The Las Vegas Gamblers must be moved. "We'll miss being in Vegas. It was a great market for us." Olsen didn't stop there, "Due to us needing a home for our triple A team and Flagstaff not seeming to have the population to support a pro team, we are making radical moves to the organization. Albuquerque will become the home of our AFBL team. They will become the Duke City Danger. <Logos revealed.> Olsen realizes this will cause problems with their fan base in Flagstaff but is undeterred.
"I know this will upset our loyal Alpine following but The Arizona Alpines will become the AA team for the Danger, keeping baseball in Flagstaff." Reserve NM will be bumped up to AAA.
Olsen knows he has to work with the league on exactly when these moves will happen but does have some news for their current Flagstaff fans, "Prices will not increase this year for day of game tickets. Season tickets will be 1/2 price of all day of game prices. These prices will continue until the team is officially moved. Anyone who is a season ticket holder our final AFBL season will be awarded a free season to the AA team AND will receive a season long voucher for free tickets to any game our Inaugural Season in Albuquerque."
Olsen sounds like he has a plan to keep people in the seats. We'll see how it works out.
