Coming off a franchise best 98 wins and a first round playoff exit change is in the air in Idaho.
Long time stars, Loren Dobson and Jim Fish have moved on. Choosing not to retire, both guys have been given their release. Both players will have their numbers retired, Fish's #34 and Dobson's #26 as two of the greatest Steelheads of all time. Dobson is one of AFBLs greatest middle infielders and Fish's 204 wins are top 20 all time. Both players were instrumental in all 6 Idaho playoff appearances and their 2 championships.
Taking Dobson's second base spot is former 1st round pick Antonio Morales - he has played in 77 games in each of the last 2 years. The talent is there but he needs to stay healthy to reach his potential. Replacing Fish in the rotation is Alfredo Rios.
Expectations are high in Idaho as they have made the playoffs 4 straight years - let's see if the club can stay healthy and play to their potential.
