Time to log some past MVPs!

For the 2031 season, 3B Kurt Allen has been named Team MVP. Allen led an overall lackluster club with his excellent all-around play. His .799 OPS led qualified batters and he added 19 steals on top of his 17 HR and 72 RBI. Good job Kurt!

For the 2030 season, 2B Mal Parks has been named MVP. The team surprised most and made it to the post-season, aided by their offseason pickup of Marks. Marks had 5 Win Shares, swatted 24 HR and scored 91 runs. Good job Mal!

In 2032, the Diamond Club continued their general malaise of mediocrity, but trying his best to pull them out was 3B Kurt Allen. Allen led the club in nearly every offensive category, including Average (.358), 2B (38), HR (34), RBI (118), SB (26) and WAR (8.9). This was Allen's 2nd 30/30 season with the club and he took home both the 3B Platinum Stick and league MVP

The 2033 season was a rough one for the Diamond Club - old management had to go, new management came in. The team ended up posting it's worst record since 2026, finishing with the 4th worst record in all of AFBL. The long bright spot was 23-year-old Catcher Anrrique Juliao. Juliao hit .317 and added 102 walks for an impressive .431 OBP. He displayed power as well, swatting 31 2B and 21 HR. At just 23, it's possible this award is Juliao's to own for a long, long time.

The 2034 season was a season to remember for the Virginia Diamond Club - nearly a worst-to-first story, the team made a 30 game improvement to 99 wins. The big difference, was the pop of LF Mason Hayter. Hayter came over (with previous team MVP Anrrique Juliao) from Indiana in 2031, and posted his best season yet. He led the league in a number of categories, including: HR (37) OPS (.984), Slugging (.609), and Runs (109). He also batted a fantastic .334, good for 5th in the league. On the bases he was successful on 25 of 31 attempts.

Congrats Mason!

It was a great 2035 season for the Virginia Diamond Club, making it all the way to the 9th and final game of the Federation Cup. The undisputed team MVP for the season was LF Mason Hayter. Hayter dominated the Pioneer league, leading the league in HR (47), RBI (123), Runs (117), Slugging (.631), OPS (1.012), and WAR (8.0). He hit .320 on the year and also stole 25 bases, his 3rd straight year of 25+ HR and 25+ SB.

In a close battle with teammate LF Mason "Playa" Hayter - C Anrrique Juliao takes home the team MVP honors for 2036. Juliao bounced back from a torn back muscle which cost him most of the 2035 season and hit .314 with 31 HR, tying his career high. He drove in 90 runs, scored 102 times and walked 95 times. Combined with 10 HBP that gave him a whopping .422 OBP, which easily led the league (2nd was .396). It was the 5th straight campaign for Juliao with an OBP over .420. His .950 OPS, 8.8 WAR, 8.46 RC/27 also led the Patriot League and he took home league MVP honors.

Juliao was no slouch on defense either, throwing out 38% of would-be base-stealers. His 82 CS is an AFBL record and begs the question of why anyone would even try.

Good job Anrrique!

In a unanimous organization-wide vote, the 2037 Team MVP goes to C Anrrique Juliao - he not only was miles better than any other member of the club, but the entire PL. Juliao led the PL in OBP (.446), OPS (.992), WAR (9.1), Rc/27 (9.85) and walks (105). Added to those numbers he hit .331 (4th) while driving in 95 and scoring 91 times. He hit 28 HR and threw out 36.6% of all baserunners.

Without a doubt the 2038 Team MVP Award goes to 2B Dennis Christopher - who also was a deserving winner of the PL MVP. Dennis led the PL with a blistering .371 average while also topping the PL in OBP (.410), WAR (8.6), Hits (241, also 7th All-time), Triples (14) and Sac Flies (10). For good measure he added 64 steals, scored 101 times and added gold-glove caliber defense (just 5 errors in 780 chances at 2B)

Good job Dennis!

Unquestionably the Team MVP award for 2039 goes to 1B Jose Garcia. Garcia not only led the team, but he led the league in:

SLG (.671) - 2nd in franchise history
OPS (1.068)- 2nd in franchise history
wOBA (.432)
WAR (9.1) - 4th in Franchise history
HR (48)- 2nd in franchise history
RBI (141)- 2nd in franchise history
Runs (127)- 2nd in franchise history
ISO (.320)
XBH (102)
TB (439)- 2nd in franchise history

He also hit .352 (5th in PL), had a .396 OBP (4th), 230 total hits (T-2nd), 43 2B (3rd), 11 3B (T-4th), 49 SB (3rd)

Though it was a much closer contest this year, the 2040 Team MVP again goes to 1B Jose Garcia. Garcia led the team with 34 HR and 109 RBI, while hitting .282 and stealing 25 bases

Congrats Jose!
