Can I bring up a topic for this off season? This is going to sound salty but oh well.
It probably matters a lot less here than it does in real life, but because baseball is all about last at bats.....
I'd like to see us move to the traditional 2-2-1-1-1 playoff format instead of 2-3-2. I think the 2-3-2 takes away the home field advantage the higher seed has earned through a 162 game season. In a 2-3-2 format, the lower seed team needs to win just one road game in order to win the series in 5 games. However, the higher seed team has to win two road games to win in the same number of games.
Throw in the park that I had to go on the road to play 3 in a row and it gave my opponent an even bigger advantage when I should have that advantage as a higher seed.
I feel as though this, at minimum, neutralizes home field advantage and, at worst, actually makes it easier on the underdog team to upset the higher seed.
I know it sounds like I'm whining just because I lost, and I'm sure that I am to a bit, but I also feel this way in real life when it comes to playoffs and that's why its not used much at all. In fact, I believe the NBA used to use but moved away from it. The argument in real life is it saves money by only traveling twice...but that' isn't a problem for us.

This was actually a topic I had written down to bring up...
I would be in favor of a 2-2-1-1-1 format for our best-of-7 series and ditch the 2-3-2 format. You are right about the road team stealing HFA by winning just 1 of the first 2 a series.
-
i dont care either way as i dont have an extreem park....but i love them :)
-
I like it
-
I woudl be fine with it so long as we ditch the 'sim in home stretches' plan. I don't want to possibly have 5 sims for a wildcard series. Sim it as 3-3-1 and ignore simming by travel schedule. That way we're mostly done in 2 sims for the wildcard

That's a good point

I personally don't care about the sim schedule, so I'm good with that.

I really like the idea of moving to a 2-2-1-1-1 format from our previous 2-3-2 format for our Wildcard Series and League Championship Series.
Are there any objections to this? Any thoughts?

For the change through all playoff rounds
-
Just a refresher for everyone...
Current Format...
Wildcard Series: 2-3-2, best of 7
League Championship Series: 2-3-2, best of 7
Federation Cup Series: 2-2-2-2-1, best of 9
Proposed Change Format:
Wildcard Series: 2-2-1-1-1, best of 7
League Championship Series: 2-2-1-1-1, best of 7
Federation Cup Series: no change - 2-2-2-2-1, best of 9
-
I meant to say yes to changing it through all the rounds.
Yes vote to proposed change from Virginia!
-
yes to the change
-
Colorado is a yes to changing the playoff format to 2-2-1-1-1 for the first two rounds from 2-3-2.
-
Vote yes - although do I qualify to vote since I've only made the playoffs once?
-
This isn't a big deal to me, I'll vote yes on the change.
-
Yes - even tho I have never made it.

I'd prefer to see 3-3-1-1-1 (simmed in 3-3-2-1 periods) for the championship series.
Happy with the wildcard and league changes to 2-2-1-1-1.

2-2-2-2-1 is the most logical option available in OOTP in a best of 9 series

In the playofffs we sim when everyone is ready so its not like its a big deal one more sim but I aggree to change

It is when one team drags the chain.
It went really quickly this year, but I know a couple of seasons back it went slow when a team or two weren't as quick.
-
Yeah sure. Yes.
-
no objections from North Carolina to the proposed change.
-
Yes!

I know that i have to export at least once for each round so when at work it gets tough but eaither way playoff rarely last longer then 2 weeks

Yes sounds good.
We don't have to pay to fly players around, it makes more sense in sim.
-
I vote yes to the change. I have no issue with it.

The proposed change to the best of 7 series (Wildcard and LCS) will pass with 14 out of 15 votes cast so far.
2025 will be the first season with a 2-2-1-1-1 format for the Wildcard Series and League Championship Series. The Federation Cup Series stays at 2-2-2-2-1.
