Will be interesting to see whether or not I can get Simpson to develop on both offense and pitching (he's an 8/8/8 SP prospect as well)
Very cool. That will definitely be something worth watching!
I've been trying a similar experiment in NPBL with
Kane David. Drafted as a SS, and we used him both ways in rookie league. 44 relief appearances (netting 18 saves) plus 33 starts at SS (where he hit .286/.326/.361 with decent D). But he doesn't have the endurance to be a SP, and while he's an OK prospect in the infield, he's a much better one at pitcher.
Simpson will probably start as a pitcher, and DH on other days.
I've also used
Jimmy Norris as a two-way player. He was an all-star as a LF in 2026, and was twice pitcher of the month as a SP in 2029. This year he got some time as DH (260/314/490 in a little over 100 PA) and pitched a bunch. But he also blew out his elbow at the end of the year, so who knows.
