Florante Marrald and Jimmy Williams will split the awards. The combined 20-19 record might not wow people but they had some hard luck situations that effected their records. However in a season where Lawson and Ferreira spent long stretches on the DL and Arroyo struggled, they were the glue that held the staff together with 3.15 (Marrald) and 3.59 (Williams) ERAs respectively. If they had better efforts from the pen, they would have won more games. Because of their consistency in a year where there was a lot of trouble with the rotation, they get the nod as between hitters it would have been hard to pick one with so many guys delivering big time.
