If Perkins figures his control out and those 2 pitches hit potential he will be the greatest closer this league has ever seen. I obviously dont think he gets there but damn if he does. BTW another top 4 pick. I really had this system built nice. Damn you new guys :P

Shouldn't Perkins be auto protected? Isn't he 20 years of age or under and with no ML service time?

I take that back - he played 3 games in 2014... ouch Troy, I bet that hurts.

It doesn't matter he is still protected. Wasn't it 10 innings of play? I already said something to Matt. I thought he was 21 at first then looked. That's gonna have to be fixed.

10 days of service I believe (Matt can confirm), so it all depends on how many days he spent on your ML roster, not how many times he actually played or innings he pitched.

I guess matt will have to look but that goes back to why I wish we had expansion rules set long ago because I am sure he was a sept call up or spring training guy and we know this game does weird things with spring stats. Matt's looking into it but we'll see i guess

Yes oversight by myself. Sorry about that. Pick rolled back. Nice catch Troy before we went further.

Yeah, I had to waste (not really a waste but you know what I mean) a protection spot on Bob Jones because I played him in 2016, he pitched all of 20 odd innings all season.

We weren't entirely clear about pitchers with the ML service time. Pick rolled back due to the lack of clarity.

So what was/is the ruling on service time for pitchers?

Can I get Bob Jones auto protected and then protect someone that has already been picked so we roll the draft back 5 rounds? ;) only joking.

So what was/is the ruling on service time for pitchers?

It was 10 ABs for hitters so 7-10 IP or something?

Anyone else been picked or still in the draft pool that this applies to?

Not sure but at this point I really only allowed it since it was the most recent pick. Teams did have plenty of time to review their unprotected players for error.

That being said we need to decide on the pitchers protection limit.

Agree, too much effort to go back and check, but might be worth checking those still available, a quick sort by age in statslab and just check the 20y/o (if any) in game to see what ML time they have.

Boo!  I like Perkins, although I don't think he's a future closer.  Looks more like a solid setup man to me, but you never know with guys who are young.

I've taken Chris Irvin of Kentucky instead.

5 innings pitched is 15 batters faced - more if you include all things that are not outs, therefor not included in the IP calculation. I think that is fair.

That's a good idea. I think at this point we will just say less than 10 IP. We removed Ward (NM) and Marrald (NM) from the available players list as well as Perkins. I think these were the only players in this grey area.
