Coming off the Warhawks first playoff birth and just their 2nd winning season, the goal now is to win it all.  With a projected 98 win season ahead it may still be unlikely that the Warhawks win their division, but Illinois fans should be expecting their 2nd playoff birth in the 2018 season.  Much of the lineup remains unchanged however OF Jack Perrier will now be taking over the RF position against RHP after an impressive offseason in which the OF went from 1.5* to 4*.  OF Jim Sackett will still get some AB's against RHP but will mainly be getting his chances agains LHP.  The Outfield looks to be a strong position for the Warhawks as the 2017 team MVP Dan Allen looks to follow up on his great year in which he hit .310/.394/.603 as well as Greg Hammond who went .313/.377/.630.  Hammond and Allen hit for a combined 87 HR's, and 227 RBI's in 2017.

All in all it looks to be a good year for Illinois supported by a solid pitching staff and infield, and a farm system in the top half to make sure that the Warhawks are good for years to come.
