Looks like 37 year old 2nd baseman Artie White was the Illinois 2014 MVP in a close vote over Pitcher Alex Bender.

The Illinois Piasa 2015 MVP is: Doug Wallace. The ace of the pitching staff posted a 17-7 record with a 2.86 ERA. He struck out 250 in 233 IP. He posted a great whip of 0.98.

Coming in a close second was 3B Jose Gonzalez, who was a rock all year posting 38 HR and 122 RBI.

2021 Illinois MVP

Going against what I initially thought as a no brainer and choosing 2B Zak Chambers over RF Dan Allen

In just 126 games, Chambers tallied a team high 5.7 WAR. Even with all that time missed Chambers was 2nd in the FL in hits with 197 and led the FL with his impressive .359 Avg.

Chambers excellent fielding is what gave him the edge to me for team MVP.  Among FL 2B Chambers finished 1st and 2nd in Zone Rating and Defensive Efficiency respectively.

Doing my research I also found it very intriguing that Chambers only Grounded into just 1 Double play in 566 PA

Chambers has increased his WAR every year since he got the call up in 2017, and at just 24 years old it will be interesting to see what he can do in the next few years!!

I think Zak Chambers is probably my best managing move thus far. Switched him from 3b to 2b back when I have Illinois and he became a 10 defender at 2nd. Congrats Zak!
