League Annoucements

League Waits To Begin Season
The Commissioner's office has released a press league to make a few announcements as it prepares to get the first season of the AFBL underway. The start of the opening draft and season will be delayed until the league receives a press release from each franchise announcing their team name along with minor league team locations (which will be location within the major league's home state or any neighboring state without a team) and names. League officials also need to have an announcement about the franchise's stadium information.

AFBL Decides League Alignment, Allows Canadian Franchise
AFBL will be split up in two 8-team leagues based on geography, the Frontier League and the Patriot League. The league also will allow a franchise to call Ontario home. This wasn't in the league's original plan but sources indicate that the AFBL wouldn't be opposed to a 2nd Canadian team down the line as an expansion team.

Frontier League
Arizona
California
Colorado
Illinois
Indiana
Kentucky
Oregon
Texas

Patriot League
Georgia
Massachusetts
New Jersey

Any way to convince you to shorten the wildcard series to 5 or even 3 games?

Hey Matt, I'd suggest we use 10-day DL assuming you sim 10 days per sim.  It enables owners to make moves at the end of each sim without having to rely on the commish to make as many mid-sim moves.

That would be easier to manage. I like this idea. Thanks!

I would be fine with adjusting it to a 5 game series for that Wildcard Round series.

Georgia Out, Iowa In; AFBL Realigns Before Starting
AFBL just sent out a press release that the franchise that was scheduled to be one of the 16 original teams had its ownership group back out thus removing it from becoming a founding franchise. League officials moved quickly to fill the empty spot with a different prospective ownership group. The group is backed by David Cornish who will base his team out of Iowa.

AFBL has tweaked the league's alignment to reflect this recent change in geography of the franchises...

Frontier League
Arizona
California
Colorado
Illinois
Indiana
Iowa
Oregon
Texas

Patriot League
Kentucky
Massachusetts
New Jersey
New York
North Carolina
Ohio
Ontario

I like the idea of having our Rookie League teams all playing in one state, sorry! AFBL's Rookie League teams will need to be based in Florida. If you have overlooked this detail, let me know your change, if not I can pick for you!

Also, another reminder that your team's minor league affiliates should be located in your major league's home state or any neighboring state without a major league team already based in it. Thanks!

Agree with the one state for the rookies, we don't want our youngsters sampling the nightlife from too many undesirable cities ;)

AFBL Rookie League season moved up to begin May 28th for a 90-game season that wraps up on September 3rd this season. I tweaked this so we can have Rookie League begin sooner and last slightly longer. We need the development :) !
