Steamrollers Move on to College League Championship Series
|
The Ft. Wayne College Steamrollers and Gatineau College Golden Spikes held nothing back in an entertaining College Wildcard Series that went the distance.
In the end, it will be Ft. Wayne College advancing to the College League Championship Series, after a 7-3 triumph in the final game at Steamrollers Stadium, to wrap up the series 3-2.
The Steamrollers players celebrated jubilantly in their clubhouse after the game, while the scene was one of dismay on the opposing side for the Golden Spikes.
Ron Hardwick was named series MVP for Ft. Wayne College. For the series, Hardwick hit .421 with a .542 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 4 runs.
The Ft. Wayne College Steamrollers will play against the Laval College Rockies in the next round. Laval College won their series against the Santa Ana College Steelhawks 3 games to 0. The College League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the College Wildcard Series finishes.
