Kirbyville HS Takes High School Wildcard Series in Deciding Game
|
In a series that had a little bit of everything, the Kirbyville HS Drillers have edged the Houston HS Hornets.
The two rival clubs went the distance in the tightly-contested High School Wildcard Series, with a 12-1 win in the clincher being the difference for Kirbyville HS and giving them the ticket to the High School LCS with a 3-2 series triumph.
"We never stopped believing in ourselves. When push came to shove we were going to get it done," said Ed Braman, who was named series MVP.
For the series, Braman hit .526 with a .609 on-base percentage. He had 5 home runs, drove in 9 RBI and scored 7 runs.
The Kirbyville HS Drillers will play against the Loving HS Gray Sox in the next round. Loving HS won their series against the Calgary HS Flames 3 games to 1. The High School LCS schedule will be announced after the High School Wildcard Series finishes.
