Connecticut Takes Wildcard Series in Deciding Game
|
United Baseball League fans were certainly not disappointed with this East Wildcard Series.
The two teams were evenly matched and the series went to the final game, with the Connecticut Juggernauts prevailing over the Massachusetts Possums to advance to the League Championship Series.
Connecticut won the final game by a score of 10-2 at Possums Ballpark and that sealed the series 4-3.
"Things were tense in our clubhouse and dugout before and during this game, but we can let loose a bit now -- the hard work is over, for now," said first baseman Cortez Morales, who earned MVP honors.
For the series, Morales hit .379 with a .438 on-base percentage. He had 4 home runs, 8 RBI and scored 7 runs.
The League Championship Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Series finishes.
