Aviators Heading to League Championship Series
|
American Federation Baseball League fans were certainly not disappointed with this Patriot League Wildcard Series.
The two teams were evenly matched and the series went to the final game, with the North Carolina Aviators prevailing over the Kentucky Lions to advance to the League Championship Series.
North Carolina won the final game by a score of 6-2 at Lions Stadium and that sealed the series 4-3.
"Things were tense in our clubhouse and dugout before and during this game, but we can let loose a bit now -- the hard work is over, for now," said right fielder Maresuke Kosaka, who earned MVP honors.
For the series, Kosaka hit .400 with a .419 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, 11 RBI and scored 8 runs.
The League Championship Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Series finishes.
