Home Loss Shrinks Knights Series Lead to 3-1
|
Already down in the League Championship Series, the New York Empire put on their best show, beating the Ohio Knights by a final score of 3-2 today. Masahide Hirata was special. He threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball. New York now trails Ohio 3-1 in the best-of-7 affair.
New York used the timely hitting of Mike Bradley to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Empire on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said New York manager Richard Hager.
The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, November 6th , 2068 at The Empire in New York.
