North Carolina Takes League Championship Series in Deciding Game
|
The fans in North Carolina are delirious, while there is little joy to be found in Pennsylvania.
The North Carolina Aviators finished off the Pennsylvania Railroaders 9-1 in the deciding game of the League Championship Series played at PNC Park.
They took the series 4-3 and will now head to the Federation Cup Series.
For his standout play, North Carolina right fielder Maresuke Kosaka was voted the series' Most Valuable Player.
He batted .385, drove in 8 runs and scored 4 to lead his club to victory.
"We could never really figure out how to pitch to Kosaka and that doomed us," said Railroaders manager Mike Kritikos. "Hats off to North Carolina, though. That was a great series."
The Federation Cup Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
