Great Stroke: Chavez Gets 6 Hits
|
The Paducah Tigers stopped the Duluth Knights by a score of 7-6 at Paducah Ballpark, with the lion's share of the credit going to second baseman Luis Chavez. The 24-year-old had a career day, collecting 6 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Chavez said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Chavez did just that in his 8 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Knights.
"Not much that I can say," offered Duluth manager . "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Luis Chavez singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Josh Sauber in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, grounded out in the 9th, grounded out in the 11th, hit an RBI single in the 13th and hit an RBI single in the 15th.
This season, Chavez has 15 home runs and a .351 batting average.
