Bridegrooms Take Tight Tangle
Crowds lined up early in front of Bridegrooms Stadium, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2069 American Federation Baseball League season. On the mound was Ronman Tierney for the visiting Alabama Yellowhammers and Chris Meeker for the hometown Maryland Bridegrooms. In a spirited contest, the Bridegrooms pulled out the win, defeating the Yellowhammers by the score of 6-5. Especially impressive was Pablo Colunga. The win belonged to Daniel Aguayo in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jeff Price took the loss for Alabama.

The decisive blow was delivered by Alex Carranza in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off fireballing right-hander Jeff Price to win the game for Maryland. The home crowd went nuts.

"The fans went nuts at the end," Carranza said.
