The Kentucky Lions defeated the Pennsylvania Railroaders, 8-2. Doing his part was second baseman Brodie Shanahan, who slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Joel Augustus, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held the Railroaders to 2 runs on 6 hits over 8.2 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 1. The win puts Kentucky at 3-1.

With Kentucky leading 4-0 in the top of the sixth, Shanahan came up to bat against Pennsylvania pitcher Chris Cagle. Shanahan hit a changeup to left for a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Lions on top, 7-0.
