Warhawks Top Danger to Even Record
|
The Illinois Warhawks went home winners at Todd Berry Memorial Field, thanks in large part to starter Dennis Ackerstrom. Ackerstrom stifled the New Mexico Danger, enabling Illinois to grab the 2-0 win. The loss makes New Mexico 11-9.
The Warhawks got a big at-bat from center fielder Samuel Kent. For the game, Kent was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Illinois a 2-0 lead.
"I like what I saw today," said Illinois manager Steven Luker, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
