Kentucky Wins, 3-2, Over Railroaders
|
The Kentucky Lions and Pennsylvania Railroaders played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
In a tight contest at Lions Stadium, the Kentucky Lions edged the Pennsylvania Railroaders by the score of 3-2. Kentucky right fielder Ryan St. John, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Picking up the save was Benvenuto Coriolano, his 10th.
St. John had a timely hit for Kentucky in the bottom of the eighth. With Kentucky trailing 2-1, he turned a 1-1 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season, making it 3-2, Kentucky.
Afterward, Lions manager Zach Larson was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
For the Railroaders, the loss makes their record 9-14.
