Vipers Top Explorers, 4-1
|
The Arizona Vipers bested the Oregon Explorers by a score of 4-1, with right fielder Paddy Kerkhoven getting the main credit. On the day, Kerkhoven went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Vipers. The win gives Arizona a record of 16-10.
Kerkhoven had a game-changing double in the top of the 11th. On a 2-2 fastball from Josh Moore, he banged a run-scoring double to left-center, giving the Vipers a 2-1 lead. It was the 3rd double of the year for Kerkhoven.
"That was your kind of game, if you like high drama," said Vipers manager Alex Cumana.
