Resonance Edge Outlaws, 4-3
|
The Washington Resonance defeated the Texas Outlaws, 4-3, in Frontier League action at The Boom Box. Washington pitcher Mike Aviles had a standout performance. Masanori Hayashi recorded the save for Washington, his 7th of the season. The loss puts Texas at 12-16.
Had Garrett Wilhelm not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Wilhelm hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Resonance.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Aviles.
