Extra-Inning Win by Titans Over Athletics
|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Georgia Titans and the New Jersey Athletics. Georgia won it, 2-1. Georgia starter Morihiko Morimoto was in command. Eric Yeck picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-0. Jim Schlenker was tagged with the loss. Morgan Stea finished to wrap up his 1st save.
Georgia used the timely hitting of John Helman to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Titans on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Helman.
New Jersey falls to 17-12.
