Zhai Leads Outlaws to 9-6 Win Over Empire
|
Outlaws shortstop Wai-ho Zhai left his mark on his team's 9-6 win over the New York Empire. Zhai, who finished 4th in the FL in RBI with 105 in 2059, was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for Texas in the contest. Josh Bang was the winner. Over 5.1 innings, he yielded 2 runs on 7 hits, with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. Texas now has a record of 18-18 with the win.
Texas used the hitting of Eddie Guerrero to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a grand slam home run in the top of the third inning to put the Outlaws on top, 5-0. For the game, Guerrero had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Guerrero told the Texas Chronicle.
