Lions Knock Off Railroaders, 6-3
|
No one was more impactful than André Hubert in the 6-3 Kentucky win over Pennsylvania. Hubert, who is tied for 6th in the PL in RBI with 20, went 3-4 with 3 doubles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Joel Augustus, the winning pitcher, improved to 4-4. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 8 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 3. Earning his 9th save for Kentucky was Kane Finzer.
Hubert had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a 1-0 slider from Tony Parra, he banged a 2-run double to right-center, giving the Lions a 5-3 lead. It was the 8th double of the year for Hubert.
Hubert told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
With the win, Kentucky goes to 18-23, while the Railroaders fall to 14-27.
