Blue Pirates Suffer Blowout Loss to Railroaders
|
Pennsylvania starter Oscar Gomez clamped down on the Ontario offense, while his team cruised to victory, 11-2. Gomez got the win, improving to 4-3. He gave up 4 hits and walked 1 over 5.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Earning his 1st save of the year was Ryan Causey.
Jeff Braswell was 2 for 5 with 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Pennsylvania. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off Jonathan Quintana. It was his 43rd hit of the season.
Said losing manager Shaun Young: "Give the Railroaders credit. They played a better game than we did."
The Railroaders now have a record of 22-29.
