Zach Mitchell impressed in the 8-2 Ohio win over Colorado. Mitchell, who is the 7th-best prospect in the Knights organization, went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Masahide Hirata, the winner, improved to 3-4. He held the Bears to 2 runs on 6 hits over 7.2 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 0. Derek Evans earned save number 3 this season.
Ohio grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Mitchell hit a solo home run off Rich Kelly. His 4th home run of the season put the Knights out in front, 3-2.
Mitchell told the Ohio Times: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
The triumph puts Ohio at 29-25 for the season.
