Late Rally by Lions Locks Up 5-2 Win
|
The Kentucky Lions faced a tough opponent in Georgia pitcher Victor Vallez, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Lions Stadium by a final score of 5-2. Vallez went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Kane Finzer sewed up the save, his 14th. The Lions now have a mark of 23-34.
Kentucky took a 5-2 lead on Kurt Woodard's 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Georgia pitcher Kevin McLaughlin in the bottom of the eighth.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Lions manager . "This one was nice to get."
