Bears Suffer 2-1 Loss to Minnesota
Colorado got a terrific performance from pitcher Eddie Avalos, but it wasn't enough to beat the Minnesota Mallards. Minnesota won the Dylan Park at Hennepin contest, 2-1. Avalos threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The win went to Jeremy McKenna in relief, making him now 3-3. Eddie Avalos took the loss for Colorado. Minnesota has an impressive 62-24 record.

Had Ed Cella not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Cella hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Mallards.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Cella, "and then get after it again."
