Railroaders Run Win Streak to 6
|
Soggy conditions did not keep Pennsylvania and North Carolina from playing their scheduled game.
The performance of Chad Grant proved critical in helping Pennsylvania beat North Carolina, 12-8. The Railroaders shortstop was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Pennsylvania reliever Ryan Causey got the win, raising his record to 4-1. Mike Hill was tagged with the loss. Lysander Kalergi earned the save, his 15th in 21 tries.
Early in the game, Grant had a 2-run double for Pennsylvania. It was his 10th double of the season and put the Railroaders on top, 2-0.
"You win some, you lose some. I don't get too caught up in all that," said Grant.
The second-place Railroaders have won 6 in a row.
