The New York Empire picked up a win at Bridegrooms Stadium, knocking off the Maryland Bridegrooms, 7-4. On the mound for New York was left-hander Ralph Johns, who played a pivotal role in the win. Johns, the winner, moves to 6-2. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 3 walks. New York has now won 6 straight.
Chris Patrick, the 21-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Patrick contributed a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put New York up, 2-0.
