Maryland Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
The Maryland Bridegrooms topped the North Carolina Aviators by a score of 4-2. Leading the way was pinch hitter César Collazo. Collazo was 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Bridegrooms. Maryland reliever Matt French picked up the win, raising his record to 4-4. Joe McGrath was tagged with the loss. Maryland occupies second place in the Patriot League North at 48-43.
The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Maryland trailing 2-1, Collazo jumped on a fastball from fireballing left-hander Joe McGrath and hit a 3-run home run to right. With one swing, the Bridegrooms had a walk-off win.
"The house was rockin'," said Collazo.
