Despite a fine performance by first baseman Jose Guzman, the Ontario Blue Pirates lost to the Kentucky Lions, 6-2. Guzman went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Mario Garza, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 4 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 4-3. The first-place Lions improved to 55-36.
