With 2-0 Win, Resonance Improve to 49-44
|
In a well-pitched game between the Washington Resonance and the Minnesota Mallards, pitcher Nadir Shirazi was fantastic. The Washington right-hander helped his team secure the win, 2-0. Shirazi, now 10-9, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Masanori Hayashi earned the save, his 28th, for the Resonance.
Washington used the clutch hitting of David Evans to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Resonance the lead, 2-0. For the game, Evans had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
Evans told a Washington Citizen reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
Washington raised its record to 49-44 with the win.
