Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the California Bulldogs got the win.

California Bulldogs starter Greg Schaffner found his groove in his team's 4-3 win over the Idaho Steelheads. The winner was Schaffner. He threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Nick Long. Earning his 20th save of the year was Jamie Brewer.

Brody Connell, who is tied for 10th in the FL with a .307 batting average, aided the California cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth. For the game, the shortstop went 1 for 3. He drove in 2 runs.

"It feels good to get this one," Connell told the California Daily.

California is now 46-49.
