Athletics Beat Kentucky, 2-1
|
New Jersey pitcher Glen Duncan did his part in helping his team beat the Kentucky Lions, 2-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. New Jersey is now riding a 4-game win streak.
New Jersey used the timely hitting of Joe McGinty to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 15th inning to put the Athletics on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Duncan. "Successful pitchers do it."
