Bridegrooms Lose to Lions in Walk-Off
Due in large part to left fielder Carlos Marquez, the Kentucky Lions sunk the Maryland Bridegrooms, 7-6. Marquez was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Roger McCoy, credited with the win in relief, is now 3-0. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. With the win, Kentucky pushed its record to 59-45.

The decisive blow was delivered by Chris Bermudez in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off three-time All-Star Matt French to win the game for Kentucky. The home crowd went nuts.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Bermudez told the Kentucky Observer. "It's as simple as that."
