The Washington Resonance got a stellar effort from pitcher Jeremy Payton, helping Washington score a win over the visiting New Mexico Danger, 4-1. The winning pitcher was Payton, now 9-6. He tossed 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 8. Masanori Hayashi was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 35 of 39 save opportunities.
The Resonance got a big at-bat from catcher Matt Dewitt. For the game, Dewitt went 1-3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 22nd double of the season gave Washington a 2-0 lead.
"Winning never gets dull," said Dewitt.
The win elevated the Resonance to 65-63.
