Salerno Propels Arizona to 1-0 Win
The Snake Pit hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.

In a well-pitched game between the Arizona Vipers and the Oregon Explorers, pitcher Frank Salerno was superb. The Arizona right-hander helped his team win, 1-0. Jonathan Boehlke got the save, the 6th for him this season.

Salerno, the winning pitcher, raised his record to 13-10. In 8 innings of work, Salerno gave up no runs on 3 hits, while racking up 8 Ks. He kept the Explorers punchless, offensively.

Vipers manager Alex Cumana raved about Salerno after the game. "I thought Frank was 'lights out.'"
