A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Arizona Vipers and Ohio Knights.

Arizona got a strong outing from Frank Salerno as the Vipers defeated the Ohio Knights, 7-1, at Huntington Park. Salerno, now 11-8, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 1 run.

Arizona used the bat of Norm Laurent to get the win. The third baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Vipers ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Laurent.

The 4th-place Knights have lost 7 consecutive games.
