The Alabama Yellowhammers trumped the New Jersey Athletics, 6-3, at Madison County Grounds. Alabama center fielder Samy Morel was terrific. He went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. Alex Perez, the winning pitcher, improved to 9-3. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Jordan Vazquez notched his 11th save of the season.

Catcher Eduardo Noyola made an impact for Alabama, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Danny Garza in the bottom of the fourth. For the contest, Noyola went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

Morel called the win "a lesson in teamwork."

Alabama is now 64-82. New Jersey is 63-83.
