Nickerson Rips 2 Home Runs in 9-3 Empire Triumph
|
With center fielder Logan Nickerson leading the charge, the New York Empire defeated the Idaho Steelheads, 9-3, at The Empire. Nickerson, who is on pace for 101 RBI this season, hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Today's win puts New York at 85-68, while Idaho falls to 51-102.
Chris Patrick, who is tied for 7th in the PL in runs scored with 108, chipped in a 3-run home run for New York in the bottom of the first. For the game, the right fielder had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 3 runs scored, and 3 RBI.
"We didn't get the results that we wanted," said Idaho skipper Lawrence Tabachnick.
