Jesus Capistran helped his team muscle past the New York Empire, 9-2. In the game, the Ontario right fielder was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Taylor Novak, who is tied for 6th in the PL with a 7.2 K/9 rate, was the winner. He's now 7-12. The loser was Jose Ruiz. The 4th-place Blue Pirates bumped their record to 74-82.

David Burchard had a big 2-run home run for the Blue Pirates in the top of the fifth inning. With Ontario leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a forkball from Jose Ruiz, who is tied for 10th in the PL with a 6.9 K/9 rate, and punished it. The result was his 17th home run of the season, which put the Blue Pirates on top, 4-1.
