Athletics Get Clonked by Blue Pirates, 3-2
|
The Ontario Blue Pirates picked up a win at Johnson & Johnson Field, taking down the New Jersey Athletics, 3-2. Starting pitcher Jonathan Quintana was a big reason why. Rich Webb notched his 30th save of the season. The Blue Pirates raised their record to 76-86.
A.J. Frontiera, who is a three-time All-Star, had a direct impact on the outcome. Frontiera contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning to put Ontario up, 1-0.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Frontiera said after the game.
