Monarchs Spilker Smacks 5 Hits
It was a good day for the Monarchs at Ballpark of Manhattan HS as they clipped the Montreal HS Loggers, 21-15. It was tremendous day for Matt Spilker, who was on a hitting barrage at the plate, finishing 5-for-6.

"I don't know what to call that," the Manhattan HS first baseman told reporters after his big performance. "I'm not 'dialed in' or 'in a zone,' I just try to keep it simple. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then I hit it. Today I picked up the spin pretty well."

Matt Spilker flied out in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Stephen French in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Jason Thompson in the 7th.

So far this year in 5 games, Spilker is hitting .524 with 3 home runs, 9 RBIs and 6 runs scored.
